The Doctors interactions with Santa lead to some hilarious dialogue as well as some killer explanations as to how the whole Christmas thing works. They way the jolly old elf is handled conforms him to the shows continuity while also delivering on every quirk and fancy we want to see in the Santa Character. Of course there's also the addition of Nick Frost as Santa Clause. No wounder you get invaded all the time!' By far the best line of the episode. One of the characters even mentions this similarity, leading The Doctor to say 'There's a horror movie called Alien? That's really offensive. While all that's going on we have face-huger look alikes called Face Crabs (they actually have a more sciencey name but I can't remember it right now and the Google search came up with nothing). The Characters (unknowingly) start in a dream, go into another dream, have a dream in that dream, come out of that dream, realize they're in a dream, get out of that dream, and then realize they're still in a dream, only to be fooled into another dream! That's one more layer of dreaming than Inception!

Last Christmas is a mix between Inception and Alien with a wallop of Christmas jolly thrown in there for good measure.

It's a fantastic episode of Doctor Who and possibly the best Christmas Special. On top of that he's managed to make a story that is equally creepy and Christmasy.

He's crafted a story with enough twists and turns to make you dizzy while also writing an intense Character piece in the same vein as much of Series Eight. Steven Moffat has done what he does best in this years Doctor Who Christmas special, Last Christmas. Obviously, spoilers for the Christmas special!
